5 Top Marketing Trends to Follow in 2019

Happy New Year!

Last year’s results give us the best data for what we need to do to grow our business. And, that includes taking a hard look at our marketing and PR efforts. What worked, what didn’t, what we planned, and what we actually were able to do.

All too often, we’re so busy working IN our business that we put working ON our business on the back burner. Here are a handful of ideas to consider from Entrepreneur.com and Forbes:

5 Top Marketing Trends to Follow in 2019

  1. Optimize your website for voice search. Pretend you’re “Alexa.” What would someone ask about your company? Understand what your customers are looking for and add conversational phrases to your website, or create a FAQ section to answer those questions.
  2. AI and Chatbots are here to stay. Grand View Research reports that the global chatbot market will reach a whopping $1.25 billion dollars by 2025, growing at an annual rate of 33%. Not everyone likes talking to a human on the phone, so online assistants work, especially for customer service. Plus, they’re dedicated 24/7.
  3. IGTV (Instagram TV) is on the rise. Video marketing tops the chart, and not just because of its SEO value. In 2019, think about adding longer format vertical video to your mix. Horizontal is how we watch TV. Vertical video is for a mobile phone. Publish demos, talks, case studies and reviews. Add live stream and more.
  4. Image search is taking off. Both Google and Pinterest are using visual search technology to boost e-commerce. Take a picture of an object, find information online, and buy it. Fashion and home décor brands on Pinterest seem to benefit the most. Shoppers and advertisers are loving it. Watch for explosive growth in this area.
  5. Forget celebrities. Find top influencers in your local market and start a conversation. Check out platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, as well as podcasters and bloggers in your industry. At Buzzsumo.om, you can call up a list of influencers with a few key strokes and look at their followers. Note that you may get hooked. Try the freemium version before you buy.

For marketing and everything else in life, be intentional. You’ll love what you see!
